Our foster dogs live as family members in the foster home until chosen for adoption.
Hi, my name is Charlie
This is what Charlie's foster mom wrote about him - Charlie is incredibly gentle and sweet considering what a rough start he had in life. He suffered a serious injury as a puppy where the skin was peeled back from the foot; it appears to have been left untreated and his left rear paw looks somewhat deformed. He will be having surgery on his foot soon. He still runs around and plays on it- he's just happy to be able to run around because he spent most of his life overlooked and alone in the shelter. He was sad, confused, and didn't know what to do when we first brought him home; but he has adjusted beautifully, learned his name and how to sit right away, and seems very smart.
He loves running around the yard w/ our female dogs and tolerates, but doesn't really get along with, our other male dog.
He has been wonderful with my daughter and her friends, but is still very wary and frightened of adult strangers and needs time to warm up to them.
He's protective of us and seems grateful and relieved to just have a couch to lie on and enough food. He's calm, likes to snuggle, and stays very close to me when I walk around the house.
